Susan Turner, International Osteopath
Sue Turner has been in osteopathic practice in London since 1979 when she graduated from the European School of Osteopathy. She taught at the ESO from 1980-2000 and 2015-2020, establishing the school’s undergraduate children’s clinic, cranial, BLT, paediatric osteopathy and MSc programmes. From 1997 to 2012 she taught on the ESO’s osteopathic training programme in Russia.
She was a member of the founding team of the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) London, where she worked for its first 4 years and since 2012 she has taught on the OCC’s paediatric osteopathy diploma course in Italy. She is a fellow and founder member of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, taught at the European School of Osteopathy for 26 years and is a faculty member of the Molinari Institute of Health and Associazione OCC Italy. Since 1986 she has taught cranial osteopathy at post-graduate level, first with the British School of Osteopathy and since 1992, with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO) where she has contributed to the development of its course pathway.
Through the inspiration and tuition she received from WG Sutherland’s close friend and student, Anne Wales, DO (USA) through the 1990’s, she has helped to establish annual courses for osteopaths in Balanced Ligamentous Tension in UK and Germany and has also taught this approach in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Russia, Italy, France, Spain, Austria and Sweden. Her book ‘Balanced Ligamentous Tension in Osteopathic Practice’ was recently published.
While also teaching Cranial and Paediatric Osteopathy, she has become especially known for her understanding of the application of balanced ligamentous tension. Her unique experience and practice are infused with the awareness that osteopathy involves the healing for the whole person.
