Dr. Joshua Alexander, DO
Dr. Joshua Alexander, DO, MPH, serves at the Head of the Division of Neurology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California. He is a board-certified neurologist with special interest in the application of osteopathic manipulation for neurological disease. He started his clinical practice at UC San Diego where he developed a clinical and research program in osteopathy and neurology. He also served as assistant director of the UC San Diego Neurology Residency Program.
He has spoken at AAO sponsored events at OMED, Convocation, and pre-Convocation courses. He also lectured at two Cranial Academy Annual Conferences. He has published chapters on tinnitus in European Osteopathic texts and his research on headache and tinnitus have been presented at OMED and AAO.
Dr. Alexander completed his residency training at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, and his internship at University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, California.
Dr. Alexander is a two-time, back-to-back winner of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation award for humanism in medicine, and was the House Officer of the Year during his residency at UC San Diego. He has also won several awards for being an outstanding resident and teacher. He previously served as President and Program Chair of the San Diego Neurology Society.
