Course Description

This course is a didactic presentation with the opportunity for live audience participation. The course will address osteopathic clinician’s, as well as other practicing clinicians, needs to improve knowledge, competence and/or performance for the clinical application of OMT, especially OCMM in medical practice by leveraging the principles of osteopathic medicine.

In the pediatric population and in populations of patients with pain, brain damage, and other neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, there is increasing evidence that the OMT clinically applied can be of benefit to these patients. This course describes the research providing the evidence, a vital need in medical practice today. This course includes discussion on the variety of treatment types and conditions from which patients may benefit. This course will offer participants the opportunity to learn the evidence base for the clinical application of OMT generally, and osteopathic cranial manipulative medicine (OCMM) in particular. For the first time, this program presents new research carried out with advanced imaging technologies introduced only in the last five years.
