Dr. M. Jasmine Silva, DO, FAOAAM's Profile

Dr. M. Jasmine Silva, DO, FAOAAM Related Seminars and Products

Dr. Silva is a triple board-certified physician dedicated to making wellness accessible to everyone. Her goal is to move beyond disease-reactive medicine to embrace evidence-based healthy lifestyle choices to thrive physically and emotionally. Dr. Silva is the Founder and former Medical Director of The FOOT (Focus on Opioid Transitions) Steps Program, in which she cultivated and harnessed a resiliency-building medication protocol and behavioral curriculum. 90% of FOOT Steps participants successfully ceased the use of ineffective chronic opioid analgesic therapy (up to 600 MME) at program graduation - a rate that was maintained at 6 months and additionally extended follow-up at 95% and 97%, respectively (Am J Manag Care. 2022;28(2):60-65. https://doi.org/10.37765/ajmc.2022.88785).

Dr. Silva is also the creator of OsteopathicYoga ™, which blends the medical principles of osteopathy with the mind-body practice of yoga. It focuses on the neuromusculoskeletal system as the foundation for healthy bodily function and uses principles from anatomy, physiology, neuroendocrinology, and neuroplasticity to optimize physical and mental health naturally.

Dr. M. Jasmine Silva, DO, FAOAAM, has been singing for as long as she can remember. One of her earliest memories is of spontaneously breaking into song at four years old – barefoot on the driveway -inspired by the awe of seeing the full moon rise in the evening. Dr. Silva has studied vocal technique since her early adolescence and has developed a proficiency in a range of styles from opera to the Grand Ole Opry. She has performed in various theatrical and competitive musical productions and was awarded the Miss California Talent Award and the Gold Medal in Operatic Performance at The World Championships of Performing Arts. Before commencing medical school, Dr. Silva spent several years as a professional studio vocalist and a vocal coach. These days, her performances are typically reserved for the audience of her two young children. Dr. Silva has been teaching OMT skills to medical students and clinicians for 15 years - at first as a Pre-doctoral Teaching Fellow at Western University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and now at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in California. Her intimate knowledge of vocal technique and long history of being an educator in osteopathic philosophy and manual treatment gives her a unique skill set of kinesthetic interoception to share with other practitioners and performers, alike. Dr. Jasmine Silva, LLC is an evidence-based wellness and lifestyle educational resource for all ages and stages.
